New Quarterly eNewsletter Will Cover Advocacy for Civil Right to Counsel

The Public Justice Center has been a leader in developing the Civil Right to Counsel movement around the country.  In 2004 we organized the National Coalition for a Civil Right to Counsel. A leadership group formed from that coalition that is now funded by the Ford Foundation and the Open Society Institute includes the PJC, the Brennan Center for Justice at NY University in New York, the Shriver Center on Poverty Law in Chicago, the Northwest Justice Project in Seattle, and the ABA's Standing Committee on Legal Aid and Indigent Defenders.  One of our group's projects has been to establish a national visibility for the cause, which includes a new website, and now, a new quarterly eNewsletter that will cover advocacy for a civil right to counsel.
