Why give to the PJC?
In a country that prides itself on "justice for all," countless children, immigrants, prisoners, and others are denied justice because they do not possess the money, education or political power to effectively participate in society or have their rights and interests recognized in the judicial system.
You know who some of these people are: the evicted family whose possessions are piled on the sidewalk, the homeless children wandering the streets when they should be in school, the pretrial prisoner who sits in an overcrowded, unsanitary jail because he cannot make bail.
Our mission is to reverse the discrimination that allows these situations to become an all-too-common reality by providing representation, advocacy and education to the poor. The PJC does not receive federal funding because we choose not to limit the issues and cases for which we are fighting.
