PJC letter calls on Governor to protect workers, tenants, and people experiencing homelessness

This week, the Public Justice Center sent a letter to Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, calling on him to better protect workers, tenants, and people experiencing homelessness during the COVID-19 pandemic. PJC attorneys Sally Dworak-Fisher and Zafar Shah provided recommendations in the following areas:

• Unemployment insurance (UI) reform/expansion or emergency income fund
• Pandemic paid leave expansion
• Rapidly housing people experiencing homelessness, using hotels and permanent housing
• Eviction prevention
