Help win impactful police reforms in Maryland

Over the past month, after the police killing of George Floyd and the national outcry that followed, we have seen countless statements, social media posts, and other expressions of solidarity with Black Marylanders who have suffered police abuse. That’s important, but more is needed.

Now is the time for us to commit to winning five impactful police reforms that will make a real difference statewide. Will you take a few seconds to show your commitment?

Join the ACLU of Maryland, Public Justice Center and more than 75 other organizations to demand that the General Assembly pass the following police reforms:

• Repeal the Law Enforcement Officers’ Bill of Rights (LEOBR).
• Control of the Baltimore City Police Department must be restored to Baltimore City residents.
• Investigations into police misconduct must be transparent.
• Limit the use of force by law enforcement.
• Remove law enforcement from our children’s schools.

Policing in Maryland is broken. Reforms are necessary, not optional. Anything short of enacting these five reforms is not acceptable.
