The PJC’s advocacy for health care and public benefits has a new name: the Health and Benefits Equity Project! Led by attorney Ashley Black, the Project advocates to protect and expand eligibility for safety net benefits and healthcare coverage as well as access to appropriate, affordable, effective and culturally competent healthcare. The new name reflects the Project’s deep and growing focus on eliminating racial and ethnic disparities in health outcomes and access to safety net benefits. As part of the Project’s commitment to race equity, we seek to provide directly impacted community members with meaningful and authentic opportunities to shape our advocacy, including coalition building, legislative advocacy, and administrative advocacy. This helps us ensure that our priorities and advocacy reflect the needs of impacted communities. Check out what the Health and Benefits Equity Project is working on here.
